KS1 Mini Commonwealth Games

On Tuesday 19th June, 10 year 2 pupils and 4 year 6 Sports Leaders travelled to Roger Bannisters in Hatch End to take part in the Mini Commonwealth Games. Find out how they did here!

The Key Stage 1 children took part in a variety of mini Olympic events such as long jump, hurdles and throwing, in order to win points for our school.

Jumping for gold!

We started the day with an opening ceremony and a lap of honour around the track. Our school was representing South Africa, so we were all joyfully waving our flags! Then, our Sports Leaders went to set up their event for the day (mini long jump), where they were leading all 19 schools in how to do the long jump and tallied up their scores. They did a fantastic job of instructing the younger pupils and several comments were made to Miss Mazzi about how professional and helpful the children were (Isabella, Heather, Antoni and Michael).

Hopping high!

At the end of this very hot and tiring day, we placed 4th out of 19 Harrow schools which is a fantastic result!

Well done to our ten mini Olympians:

2 Cedar: Calaeb, Sammie, Julia, Poppy and Aiden

2 Elm: Danny, Nancy, Kinley, Jack and Bradley
