Hamlet Workshops

Year 5 and 6 had great fun reenacting scenes from Hamlet this week! Come and see how we got on!
As part of their Literacy, Year 5 and 6 have been studying the works of William Shakespeare and one of his most popular plays, Hamlet. Set in Denmark, the play depicts Prince Hamlet and his revenge against his uncle, Claudius, who murdered Hamlet's father in order to seize his throne and marry Hamlet's mother.
On Tuesday and Thursday this week, the children attended a workshop in school where they explored the Hamlet play further. Working in groups, the children took part in a series of activities where they acted out scenes in the style of the play with the help of our special visitor who came in to run the workshops and guide the children.
Everyone had great fun acting their scenes and enjoyed putting what they had learned in class into practise!
