World Book Day 2018

World Book Day Fortnight! See how we have been celebrating World Book Day here........

Over the past 2 weeks the children at St Anselm's have been exploring a chosen class text through the use of drama and role play. All children in the school had a drama workshop to enable them to think about the story book characters and the plot within their chosen text. Feedback was very positive and all children enjoyed the experience. From that, the Teachers planned an array of lessons to complement the workshop and to develop the children's understanding of the book.

On Thursday 1st March, despite the snowy weather the staff and children came in dressed up as their favourite story book character. All children looked wonderful and were enthusiastic to share their thoughts on why they chose their favourite character.

We would also like to take the opportunity to thank parents who attended the Book Fair in the hall. Due to your generosity the Book Fair allowed each class to replenish their reading corners and therefore the children have some wonderful new books!

All in all, the children at St Anselm's had a wonderful time throughout World Book Day Fortnight and we are sure this is clear from the photographs which can be seen in our gallery by CLICKING HERE!
