Procession of the Palms
On Monday 26th March, we celebrated Palm Sunday by becoming a moden day crowd, bursting with excitement as Jesus entered Jersusalem.
To prepare for this Palm Sunday procession, we made palms and the pupil chaplains were busy rehearsing the play that they performed, reminding us of Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem. Mrs Ponnaganti also led the musicians in accompanying the hymns we learnt for this occasion. The sounds and atmosphere were electric! This is much like they would have been in Jesus' day.
The procession ended with Jesus looking up to his father in heaven and despairing about how the people in Jersusalem were about to change in their treatment of him: a fate Jesus knew he had to endure in order to fulfill Scripture.
On Thursday, Year 6 will take to the stage to continue the story of Jesus' passion. Please CLICK HERE to see photos from our procession!
