Prayer & Worship

Lent

'Lent can be more than just 'giving stuff up'. What if rather than giving up a small amount of our time to think about other people?

Year 2 are challenging you to be generous and sacrifice a little of your own time each day to show kindness and love to those around you.

Passion Play

Year 6 parents were invited to see their children re-enact the events of Holy Week in their dramatization of the Passion of Christ. The children provided a solemn and thought-provoking narrative through poetry and mime.

Stations of the Cross

In the lead up to Holy Week, each class visited our Prayer Garden and prayed the Stations of the Cross, led by our GIFT Team. The children designed and created the icons in 2022 and a team of parent volunteers kindly installed them outside.

Lenten Family Collective Worship

During Lent, each class invited their parents to join them in Collective Worship. This is a wonderful opportunity to join together in prayer and quiet reflection. The children wrote Lenten promises, completed Lenten artwork and share in creative and reverent activities with their parents and family members. Everyone then joined together for a Lenten liturgy, led by the children themselves.

GIFT Team Assembly

In January, our GIFT Team led a whole school assembly about the Beatitudes. They also set the whole school a challenge of being peacekeepers on the playground.

The Nativity

Year 1 and Year 2 performed the Nativity to their parents in our Parish church, Our Lady and St Thomas of Canterbury. They reminded us very movingly of the true meaning of Christmas.

Month of the Holy Rosary

During October, the GIFT Team led the Rosary every Friday with each class. The intention of our prayers was for peace in Ukraine and across the world.
