Year 4's Green Day Success!
We are incredibly proud of our Year 4 children, who have led our fantastic Green Day initiative as part of the Green School Project.
Over the past few weeks, the children have worked hard to develop creative ideas to help reduce our school's carbon footprint.
Their inspiring projects included designing meat-free menus and promoting a weekly meat-free day, weighing food waste to encourage everyone to waste less, and creating a team of Power Rangers who have been checking classrooms at lunchtime to ensure lights, computers and other electrical equipment are switched off when not in use.
The children also launched a Walk, Scoot or Cycle to School campaign, encouraging families to choose more environmentally friendly ways to travel whenever possible.
We were delighted to receive positive feedback from the Local Authority's litter-picking coordinator, who praised our pupils' efforts in caring for the local area. The day reflected Pope Francis' legacy of stewardship and care for our common home, while inspiring our children to think about the positive impact they can have on the environment.
